China’s Great Transformation is an educational tour of China. During 12 days, we will visit the following cities and locations which include: Beijing, Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Songshan Shaolin Temple, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
The purpose of this tour will be to introduce people to some of the ancient monuments as well as modern achievements of China. We will not only climb the Great Wall and stroll through the Forbidden City and the hutongs, but see some of Beijing’s modern architectural gems like the CCTV Tower and the National Opera House.
From Beijing, the tour will journey south, visiting Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Dengfeng, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. During the excursion, participants will be able to experience aspects of Chinese culture like sipping green tea, sitting in horse stance at Shaolin Temple and travel along the world’s largest high-speed rail network.
China has achieved many great milestones and raised many new structures and cities during the past forty years. Perhaps one of the most significant and unprecedented is raising over 600,000,000 people out of poverty. During this tour, we will explore some of the factors that have enabled the Chinese to lift up nearly one half of its population of 1.4 billion out of poverty. What can other developing societies, for example in Africa and the Caribbean, learn from China’s experiment in social engineering?
This special tour of China will enable participants to see many old monuments, while also experiencing the rapid modernization of one of the world’s oldest and enduring civilizations. If you are seeking to experience some of China’s ancient heritage while yet are amazed about its Mega Projects, then this is a tour that you would not want to miss.
